When will the City's WiFi be available to the public?
Service is now available in some limited, high density areas. As the stability of the system is confirmed, additional areas will continue to be added.
How will I know when the connection will be available to me?
You will see iloveapopka in your list of available WiFi networks. You will be prompted to agree to the Terms of Usage. You will not be required to use a login or password. Please refer to the "Current Service Area" map to check for service in your area.
What will be required to access the wifi?
In order to connect and utilize the wifi, you will need a wireless card in your computer. Most newer laptops come with a built-in wireless card and a wireless card for a desktop can be purchased from any computer electronics store.

What type of connection speed should I expect when connecting to the wifi?
Connection speed will be 1Mbps.
Will my connection be secure?
There is always a security risk when using an open public wifi. Security is determined by using strong firewalls, user names & passwords, non-infected machines (viruses, malware, trojans, etc.), encryption, and website certificates/encryption.
I live within the City limits, but I cannot connect to the wifi?
There may be many reasons why you cannot access the public wireless. Make sure that there is no electronic/magnetic interference, wireless card is functional and turned on, and device is clear of any solid construction (walls, steel, metal, trees, etc.) that might reflect the signal from reaching your computer.
